The use of social media i.e. YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter increased
expeditiously in recent years. It introduced new challenges to our constitutional right
to privacy. The right to privacy is protected ito our common law and sec 14 of the
Constitution. Social communications have previously been considered private
however nowadays as information is published online the public can view your
personal information. Stalkers, cyber bullies and identity thieves may access your
information and cause you harm…

1.2. What is the impact of social media on the constitutional right to Freedom of
expression (125 words) 5 marks

Expression of speech on social media has both positive and negative consequences.
Section 16 of the Constitution makes provision for the right to freedom of expression.
The law however limits the right to freedom of expression…..
