Abstract
What factors influence sports performance? This literature review aims at highlighting three intrinsic
and three extrinsic factors that influence sport performance. The review analyses ability / capability,
personality and motivation as intrinsic factors and coach, social support and environment as extrinsic
factors. Although physical talent is important in sport performance, a variety factors, based on the
individual and type of sport, impact on how an athlete will perform.
