For thousands of years human beings have attempted to simplify and organise
information in such a way that it becomes more logical. We as human beings
value logic in the sense that it simplifies our daily lives by saving us time. In
the modern, contemporary world that we live in, time is one of our most
valuable resources and people will therefore endeavour to adapt any behaviour
that will result in saving time. The logical framework analysis is an implement
that is utilised in order to save time by facilitating in the communication
process between those responsible for planning and implementing
development projects. The logical framework analysis is also utilised when
planning development projects in order to organise and logically display a
large amount of information in a way that is easier to read and understand.
As development practitioners, we must have a firm understanding of any
implements that we can utilise during development projects increase the
efficiency and effectiveness of the project. For the purposes of this essay I
would therefore like to describe the logical framework analysis, its aims as
well as an outline of the items that it entails. This will be followed by a
discussion of the advantages and disadvantages regarding its use in
development projects. I will conclude my essay by providing a critical analysis
on whether the use of the logical framework analysis can serve the interests of
the community.
