We are pleased to appoint you as a Finance Officer in our Finance Department, where you will play an important role in supporting our financial operations, data analytics initiatives and management reporting. Take-a-Hike (Pty) Ltd is a South African company with its head office in Sandton, Johannesburg. The company operates 15 retail shops across South Africa and sells hiking equipment, including backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, hiking poles, trail shoes, hydration packs and outdoor clothing. During the current year, Take-a-Hike expanded its business model by facilitating guided hiking experiences in South Africa. These hiking experiences are arranged for groups of up to 10 clients and are led by approved hiking guides. As part of your role in the Finance Department, you will contribute to: • analysing financial and operational data to support management decision-making; • evaluating whether business operations meet the company’s target profit margin; • identifying routes, guides, retail shops and optional services that influence performance; • preparing dashboards to communicate key insights to management; and • supporting the company’s ongoing efforts to improve efficiency, profitability and internal controls.
