• You are required to use the Invigilator App for this exam.

• The use of the Invigilator App iscompulsory.
Assessments supervised by the Invigilator App require a
student to activate the QR code. The QR code is available
for activation 15 minutes before the exam beginsand30

examination. Students who fail to activate the QR
codewithin the available 45 minutes will be deemed not
to have utilized the invigilation or proctoring tools and

• This exam is "open book"which means that you are
allowed to consult your official study material (such as
your study guide, e-reserve texts (poems/short stories,
prescribed book and official support material provided by
the lecturer).
• Please note that no texts will be attached to this exam
paper. You were clearly instructed to download relevant
texts and to have them with you prior to the exam.
• Read the questions carefully and follow the instructions
rigorously. Take note of the mark allocation of each
question and adapt your answer accordingly. Only answer
what is asked.
• Answer all four questions to the value of 50 marks.
• Write/type your name, surname, student number and
module code on the first page of your answer file.
• All questions must be answered inAFRICAN ONLY.
• We prefer that you type your answers on a computer, but
we will accept handwritten work. If you want to submit
handwritten work, you must write with a black pen. It is

your responsibility to convert the handwritten work to a
PDF file.
• Do not repeat questions in your answer file. Only provide
the answers to the questions and mark them correctly.
• Students must upload their answer scripts in a single PDF
file on the official myExams platform (answer scripts must
not be password protected or uploaded as "read-only"
files). Students are provided30 minutesto submit their
answer scripts after the official examination time expires
on the myExams platform. No submissions thereafter will
be accepted. Do not wait until this last 30 minutes to
submit.
• Students suspected of dishonest conduct during the
examinations will be subjected to disciplinary processes.
Students may not communicate with any other person or
request assistance from any other person during their
examinations. The use of Telegram, WhatsApp or any
other instant messaging services with any other person
(except when asking for technical assistance via official
channels of the SCSC or the Invigilator WhatsApp line)
are strictly prohibited. Plagiarism is a violation of
academic integrity and students who plagiarise, copy from
