TRANSPIRASIE:
Verlies van waterdamp deur bogrondse plantdele.



Belangrikheid/voordele van transpirasie:
 Water en minerale word deur suigkrag van transpirasie vanaf wortels na blare
opgesuig.
 Verdamping van water vanaf blaaroppervlaktes lei tot afkoeling van die plant.


Eksterne faktore (Omgewingsfaktore) wat transpirasietempo beïnvloed (versnel of
verlaag):
1. Temperatuur
 Hoë hitte verhoog kinetiese energie van watermolekules.
 Beweging van watermolekules versnel = diffusie vind vinniger plaas = transpirasie
neem toe.

2. Ligintensiteit
 Huidmondjies is oop in die lig en gesluit in die donker.
 Hoë ligintensiteit verhoog blaartemperatuur = watermolekules beweeg vinniger en
vinnger diffusie vind plaas = toename in transpirasietempo.

3. Humiditeit
 Baie vog in die lug = humiditeit is hoog.
 Die diffusiegradiënt verminder tussen intersellulêre lugruimtes en atmosfeer.
 Diffusie vind stadiger plaas en transpirasietempo neem af.

4. Wind
 Verwyder waterdamp buite die blaar = diffusiegradiënt ten gunste van waterdamp
vanuit die blaar gaan ontstaan.

 Dorings  Hare op die blare
