PUB3703 Assignment 2 Semester 2 2026 - Due August 2026 TITLE: The title should be on its own page. The next page should contain a Table of Contents compiled as follows: Table of Contents Page 1 INTRODUCTION 2 SUB-HEADING (according to your title) 2.1 Sub-sub heading (according to the sub-heading above) 2.2 Sub-sub heading (follow-up to the above sub-sub heading) 2.3 Sub-sub heading (follow-up to the above sub-sub heading) – the number of sub-headings will be dependent on the nature of the title. 3 CONCLUSION 4 LIST OF SOURCES/REFERENCES You must divide the essay into four sections: Introduction - You should use this section to introduce the topic to the reader. It is important to provide a brief but interesting introduction which should inform the reader what this essay is about. Briefly continue to inform your reader which sub- headings will be covered in the essay. Please do not make use of any references within your Introduction. Your introduction should be in your own words. Discussion – In the discussion, as represented by point 2 above, you will use your knowledge of the topic to support the standpoint you have set out in the introduction. Conclusion - You remember that the Introduction is used to introduce the readers to the topic by informing them what the essay is about and how the essay will go about the discussion. The Conclusion is the opposite of the Introduction in that its purpose is to provide a summary of the most important aspects about the topic/title. List of Sources/References – The List of References or Sources, which should be compiled in an ALPHABETICAL ORDER, contains all the books, journals or any reading material you consulted during the writing of your essay. At this level of your study we usually require a minimum of four references. It is important to compile this list of sources in order to show the original authors of the ideas that you used in your essay. In this way, you will be able to avoid PLAGIARISM, which refers to stealing and using other people’s ideas as if they were your own. You could also face disciplinary measures in your department. The List of Sources/References could be compiled in the following manner: University of South Africa. Department of Public Administration and Management. 2020. Public Policy: Only Study Guide for PUB3703. Pretoria: University of South Africa. Explanation for compiling a List of References such as the one above, namely in case you used a Unisa Study Guide: University of South Africa: the identity of the writers of the study guide.
