FOR BUSINESS
MODULE: STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP IN THE AGE OF AI
TERM 1 LECTURE NOTES: DRIVING VALUE & ORGANIZATIONAL
TRANSFORMATION
1. THE LEADERSHIP SHIFT: FROM MANAGING TO
AUGMENTING
In 2026, the Oxford Saïd Business School teaches that AI is not a "Plug-and-Play"
technology; it is a Leadership Opportunity. Strategic leadership now requires
moving from "Human-Led" processes to "AI-Augmented" Ecosystems.
1.1 The Oxford View of AI Strategy
Strategy is defined through the Four P’s:
• Purposes: What specific business problem are we solving? (Efficiency vs.
Innovation).
• Players: Who are the stakeholders? (Data scientists, board members, end-
users).
• Partnerships: Build, Buy, or Partner? Selecting the right LLM providers or
specialized AI firms.
• Processes: Redesigning the workflow to include AI, not just overlaying AI on
top of old habits.
2. CORE STRATEGIC FRAMEWORKS
Oxford students are taught to use these proprietary-style frameworks for board-
level decision-making.
