Over the years, several theories from other disciplines have been borrowed by nursing practice to help in resolving some of the problems present. However, several scholars have questioned the move claiming that the theories borrowed may not provide empirically adequate descriptions, predictions or explanation to the nursing phenomena. To gauge whether nursing should not borrow theories from other fields it would be important to approach the topic based on the benefits brought by the action.
