When taking Coumadin you want your INR to be between 2 and 3 to be within therapeutic range. Mr. K just went on a road trip for a high school reunion in the south, and he did not really watch what he ate, as he states he “pigged out”. He ate large servings of cooked greens, but he states he didn’t eat any of the salads. He could not remember the specifics of his diet, but he did remember the dietician told him to equalize green leafy vegetables in his diet. Beings that his INR 1.2, which means his Coumadin is below therapeutic range, a consult was put in with the dietician to educate Mr. K more on his Coumadin diet.
