Individual Treatment Plan Assignment
The student will complete a treatment plan report choosing one of the case study
options provided (See Appendix C). The student must use systemic theory in the
Goldenberg text as a foundation for the treatment approach with the couple/family. The
student may integrate
more than one theory as a foundational approach as it fits their counseling style and/or
the presenting issue(s).
The paper will consist of a summary overview of the selected theory (or
theories), identifying brief history of the theory (or theories) and include one-peer
reviewed journal 13 article to support the theory’s (or theories) effectiveness in
treatment with couples/family
counseling. Please cite your references in this section. Do not cite sources in the
treatment plan report.
Case conceptualization will include diagnostic and clinical elements outlining the
identified problem and supporting evidence validating the issue in the marriage/family
(AEB). The treatment plan will incorporate two (2) goals, two (2) interventions and four
(4) objectives
(2 per intervention). The paper should be written entirely in third person, signed,
and dated. Include a title and reference page per APA style. The summary overview
and the treatment plan report may be single spaced.

Summary description of client
The clients in question are Cheryl and Ross, a married couple who pride 6 years of
matrimony, and have one child, a boy (Lucas) aged 3 years. They are both in their late 30’s, and
run successful diversified business ventures. They have a successful Limousine company ran by
Ross. The company has seen significant growth, and recently, has expanded to two new locations
within the state. Consequently, Ross spends most of his day at work managing the expansive
business. Cheryl, on the other hand, runs a catering company, and two restaurants. She’s mostly
busy, and though loves being a mother, her daily engagement takes a toll of her day. She
however, is keen to avail herself to her son and husband. Recently, Ross expressed desires to
have two more kids. He says he wants this to happen soon to avoid too large age-difference
between his first and second child, to which Cheryl has a contrary opinion, arguing that their
busy schedule at work, in the quest for financial leverage cannot allow them to have another
