provide an acceptable degree of protection from the hazards addressed in this
standard at the time the standard was issued.:
8. Residual Pressure: The pressure that exists in the distribution system, measured at the residual hydrant at
the time the flow readings are taken at the flow hydrants.
9. Static Pressure: The pressure that exists at a given point under normal distribution system conditions
measured at the residual hydrant with no hydrants flowing.
10. Flow Test: A test performed by the flow and measurement of water from one hydrant and the static and residua
pressures from an adjacent hydrant for the purpose of determining the available water supply at that location.
