Sentences: Communicative functions and typical patterns
1.1 Types of sentences
1. Declarative sentences = subject – whole verb

John is leaving.
2. Interrogative sentences = part of verb – subject – rest of verb

3. Imperative sentences = verb by itself
® iemand iets laten doen

4. Exclamatory sentences = How ... or What a ... followed by remainder of sentence
