ETH 316 Global Children's Organization ETH/316 University of Phoenix Global Children's Organization The Global Children's Organization was founded to aid children in areas where conflicts, civil or otherwise, impair the health and welfare of the children. It has focused on such areas as Northern Ireland, the Balkans, and the Middle East. The enduring mission of GCO is to help children envision and build a better future for themselves and their communities (Global Children's Organization, 2011). Its goal is to bring diverse groups of people together in war-torn countries and teach those children that hate and fighting is not the way to solve conflicts. Its ethical challenge is to convince children who may be on different sides of a conflict that their local leaders and even their parents are wrong about the way they are dealing with conflict.
