C773 Task One

Part A:

1. The current website content fails to meet user and stakeholder content needs in
various ways, the most glaring of which is an absence of any real info on the
company anywhere on the webpage. The site contains basic information for dog and
cat owners, but lacks any information on what the company does. Apart from the
name on the top left, no contact information is found to get hold of the company or
to explain what the company does. This hurts the stakeholders by not making it
clear to potential customers that the company offers expert services, and it hurts
the users by making these services inaccessible. The site also lacks any way for the
audience to put personal or pet info down. In the design specification, the company
asks for a solution to collect information on the pet owner and their pets. This would
benefit the business as when interacting with potential customers, they can provide
more resources to help said user and even cater the website to the customer so that
they will inquire about the company’s services. This hurts the stakeholders and the
audience by not giving either of them the proper information they need. Additionally,
the lack of “pet consultation” means that the website will not be among the top
searched results on Google, hurting the stakeholders as people looking for their
services will not be shown on the site during a Google search. Lastly, the content on
the website lacks style and professionalism. The site looks like it was made in the
mid-90s; the look is not modern, making most customers believe the information is
outdated and not applicable. Some might even think the website is a scam. The lack
of pictures throughout the site also does not help this aspect, as images are only on
the home page and nowhere else. These issues with the website will affect
stakeholders by pushing away potential customers, and customers will miss out on
quality help.

2. The current website functionality is minimal and fails to meet the needs of users
and stakeholders in several ways. Firstly, although there are only four pages on the
entire site, it is hard to navigate through the pages. A dedicated site back button is
absent; you must use the back button on the browser, making moving around the
pages slightly confusing. Also, when you are present on the FAQs page, there is no
way to go directly home; for some reason, the home button does not work on the
FAQ page, but it works fine within the dog and cat pages. This gives the impression
to potential customers that the site is amateurly made and can convey that the
