Equatorial:
• Hot temperatures all year round
• A lot of rain (1500mm – 2000mm)
• Unstable air – air is rising – LP – turbulence
• Lush, green forests and large animals
Savanna (aka tropical continental):
• Temperatures range from 25°C in Summer - 18°C in winter
• About 800mm rain/year
Semi-arid:
• 250-500mm rain/year
• Temperatures from 13-18°C
• Leaves are thin – no lose too much
moisture
• Has characteristics of deserts
• Dry, short shrubs
Desert:
• Very arid and dry
• Less than 250mm rain/year
• Hot temperatures
• Subsiding air – HP
• Sahara, Namib, Kalahari deserts
