Part 1: The Games and Terms (50 marks)
**Game 1: "Emotion Charades Relay" (Focus: Acting Techniques)**
* **A) Details of the Game (5 marks):** This is a relay race with a charades
element. Divide the class into teams. Each team lines up. At the front of the room,
place a bowl containing slips of paper with different emotions written on them (e.g.,
joy, sadness, anger, fear, surprise). The first person from each team runs to the
bowl, draws a slip, and acts out the emotion silently for their team. The team tries to
guess the emotion. If they guess correctly, the next person in line runs to the bowl.
The first team to have all members successfully act out and guess an emotion wins.
Time each team for added competition.
* **B) Why it's fun (5 marks):** It combines the excitement of a relay race with the
challenge of non-verbal communication. It encourages teamwork, quick thinking, and
physical expression. The element of surprise as students draw a different emotion
adds to the fun. The competition between teams incentivizes enthusiastic
participation.
* **C) How it helps teach the terms (5 marks):** This game directly teaches
students about identifying and expressing different emotions physically. It
necessitates the use of physical expression of emotions by actors.
