Leavitt School of Health, Western Governors University D026: Quality
Outcomes in a Culture of Value-Based Nursing Care
Value-Based Care
Three Components of Value Base Care
As specified by the World Health Organization (n.d.), value-based, quality care
encompasses aspects such as safety, timeliness, effectiveness, integration, efficiency, equity, and
people-centered. These elements serve as a guide for delivering healthcare services to achieve
optimal outcomes.
Being people-centered extends beyond focusing on the patient; it includes considering family
members in the care process and planning. Integration ensures the availability of resources for
obtaining services throughout an individual's lifespan. Simultaneously, providing equitable
services is essential for all individuals, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, place of residence, or
economic status.
