Introduction
According to the World Health Organization (2021), cardiovascular disease is the leading
cause of death globally, with an estimated 32% of all the global deaths in 2019. Heart disease is a
group of conditions that affect the heart and its functions, including heart attacks, heart failure,
artery disease, stroke and irregular heart rhythms, which can lead to decreased quality of life and
death. Many deaths can be prevented by addressing risk factors such as tobacco use, unhealthy
diet choices, obesity, physical inactivity, harmful use of alcohol and air pollution (World Health
Organization, 2021). Heart disease can affect a wide variety of people from all ages and
backgrounds, for this reason its impact on the population is detrimental. The financial burden of

the numbers of cardiovascular events by offering preventative services, addressing risk factors
, and promoting early health interventions. In turn, mitigating the negative effects of cardiac
disease on the global population.
Target Audience Profile
The target audience for this promotion plan are individuals living in rural areas of
Florida, with a special focus on those who have high risk factors of cardiovascular disease,
especially those at risk for strokes. Particularly because stroke is the fifth leading cause of death
in Florida, and was responsible for over 12,000 deaths in 2017 (Tshiswaka et al., 2021).The most
common barrier with this population is the lack of access to healthcare facilities due to distance,
lack of transportation or coverage. The scarcity of facilities or access to them has negative
