what is contact dermatitis? - ANSWERS--inflammatory reaction of the skin. it is caused
when the skin comes into contact with chemicals or other irritants
diaper- may be caused by detegents, soaps, and/or other chemicals.
seborrheic- unknown etiology, but is most common in infancy and then again in puberty
assessment findings of diaper dermatitis - ANSWERS--bright red rash that extends
gradually
fiery red and scaly areas on scrotum and penis
red or scaly areas on the labia
pimples, blisters, ulcers, large pus filled sores
smaller red patches that blend together
nursing care for diaper dermatitis - ANSWERS--remove wet diaper, cleanse the perineal
area of feces with warm water and soap
