It includes a fully developed Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) built from a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA). This is original student content only with no proprietary WGU templates. The plan outlines a clear replacement behavior, explicit teaching strategy, reinforcement procedures, a collaborative team approach, and progress monitoring tools. Use this as a guide to understand how to respond to prompts about: Teaching alternative behaviors Reinforcement aligned with student interests Role clarity in a multidisciplinary behavior team Appropriate accommodations Data collection for BIP progress

D761 BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION STRATEGIES AND APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS

Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) Summary

Replacement Behavior:

Student A will be taught to raise a break card or ask for help when feeling overwhelmed instead of raising their

voice, leaving their seat, or pacing. This behavior will serve the same purpose of avoiding a task momentarily

but in a way that keeps the student in the classroom and maintains a calm learning environment.

Teaching Strategy:

Student A will be taught how to use a break card during structured teaching sessions at a calm part of the day. I

will model the behavior by demonstrating how to raise the card and say, "I need a break," when feeling

overwhelmed. Student A will then practice this response in a low-pressure setting, with visual cues placed on

the desk as reminders. I will offer immediate feedback and prompting until the student can use the strategy

independently.

Reinforcement Procedure:

Each time Student A appropriately uses the break card or asks for help; I will provide immediate praise and

mark a star on their personal goal chart. After earning three stars in one day, Student A can choose a preferred

activity from a menu developed with their input. This reinforcement procedure supports the student’s interests

and motivates them to use the replacement behavior. The system will remain consistent and effort-based to build

confidence and encourage positive choices
