Wat is power?
→Power is een fundamenteel concept in de sociale wetenschappen, net als energie
in de natuurkunde.
Social power: De capiciteit om iemand ander te beïnvloeden, zelfs als diegene zich
probeerd te verzetten (tegen de invloed).
French & Raven’s Six Power Bases (1965)
Coercive power→ Macht om te (dreigen met) straffen
Reward power→ Macht om te belonen
Legitimate power→ Erkende macht en authoriteit (Bijv. door de wet of instantie)
Referent power→ Macht door charisma
Informational power→ Ik weet iets wat jij niet weet
Expert power→Vertrouw me, ik been een professional
Invloed: Obedience en conversion
Minority influence→ Moscovici – Conversion effect
- Systematische verwerking van argumenten
- Process van valideren
- Private conformity (or conversion) – Prive veranderingen
Om je te veranderen naar de norm van de minderheid moet je geolven in wat zij
zeggen→ Dit leidt tot het aannemen van hun geloof, waarde en gedragingen (ook
prive) → Volgens Moscovici’s conversion theory gebeurd dit omdat we geneigd zijn
om de inhoud van het ‘bericht’ te analyseren.
Effectief:
- Consistency
- Idiosyncrasy credits → De capaciteit van een individu om acceptabel af te
wijken van de groepsnorm. Het beschijft de mate waarin iemand een andere
mening kan hebben dan de meerderheid.
