Being a leader means one has to stand out from the rest, that is the followers. This therefore
means that leaders have to posses special traits because they give focus and direction in any
leadership role. This, however, not to say that leaders are perfect and they don’t have any
shortcomings. This is it is important for every leader to conduct a SWOT analysis for themselves
in an effort of improving their leadership skills. Here is my SWOT analysis;
Strengths
Courage- Courage is of two forms, physical and moral. I am happy and at the same time
lucky to admit that I posses the two. The most important however in a leadership role is
the moral courage. Moral courage translates to one being able to stand for what they
believe in no matter the criticisms or ridicule that may come with such a move (Davis-
Ajami et al, 2014). Being morally upright may also be a risk that might lead to loss of
position and even reputation. This is however worth it as it reflects a person’s selflessness
and fearlessness which are one of my definitive traits.
Communication- I am a good communicator both in eloquence and content delivery. It
is important for a leader to have this trait as they will use it to communicate the way
forward in their leadership roles. I have had several opportunities to address large
congregations and I must admit that the feedback was positive.
Caring- Caring does not essentially mean having to keep up with bad actions or an
unsatisfying job done, it means being considerate and humane to the ones you are
leading. Caring also means have a genuine concern on others. I am caring, these have
