HUM 100
Module Four Short Answer
My understanding of the Statue of Liberty has always been that it is a symbol of freedom and
liberty for all people of the United States and that it was a gift from France to the U.S. that was
to represent the friendship between the people of France and the people of the U.S. After
reading the article I learned the true intent of Bartholdi for making the statue and that it was a
Muslim Egyptian woman. I still think it represents America and freedom, but I also think it
represents immigrants as well.
What inspired the appearance of Tlaloc that was depicted in the statue?
The approach I would take is to use the Shapiro library and look up article about the Aztecs and
their Gods. As well as search the web for any information about the Tlaloc, I also intend to
discuss Tlaloc with a friend that knows all about the Aztec history to see what information he
can provide for me.
