Child abuse is a common social problem, not only in the United States of America but also across the globe. Many children have fallen victims of child abuse. In 2000, about two million cases of child abuse were reported in the USA. The numbers of these cases have been rising since, with extreme cases leading to death. Despite having many laws, bodies, and organizations whose sole purpose is to protect children, child abuse seems to be an endless social problem in the country. New researches reveal that children of age 10 to 16 comprise the age group that is mostly targeted by perpetrators. This paper, therefore, examines child endangerment for children of ages 10-16 for family abuse. The paper shall majorly focus on the risk factors for abuse. It shall also briefly discuss the forms of abuse pelted on children of this age group.
