Direct Supervision requires the physical presence of the licensed physical therapist for consultation and direction of the actions Members of the Florida's Board of Physical Therapy Practice Seven members appointed by the Governor 5 practicing PT's (1 can be full-time faculty) 2 residents PT's must have been practicing for the last 4 years Physical Therapist Licensing Requirements -At least 18 years old -Good moral character -Diploma from accredited PT school -Passed examination How much continuing education every 2 years? 24 contact hours = 2.4 CEU's Licensure Fees Apply to license: < $100 Issue License: < $150 Apply to license w/ foreign exam: < $175 Renew License: < $200 Requirements to administer dry needling -2 years of practicing PT -50 hours of face-to-face continuing education on the topic of dry needling -Completion of 25 patient sessions of dry needling with supervision from a PT who has been doing dry needling for at least 1 year Ways to reactivate inactive license -Continuing education (10 hours/year); 2 must be for Florida Physical Therapy Laws and Rules -Actively engaged for last 4 years in PT practice -Passed NPTE What continuing education hours are required for first biennium? -1 hour of HIV/AID education -2 hours of medical error prevention -1 hour of human trafficking course Medical errors requirements for con ed 2 hours with no more than 5 Hours for risk management No more than 5 HIV/AIDS requirements Minimum required is 1.
