Technological advancement has been handy in improving performance. Technology has enhanced proper resource utilization, patient care coordination, and effective and safe care. Healthcare systems have adopted multiple clinical approaches essential in ensuring quality and safe healthcare. One unique clinical application system that has improved outcomes and efficiencies is the online appointment scheduling system. It is a clinical system that allows patients to schedule appointments with physicians effectively. Patients can also check physicians’ availability and cancel appointments through these systems. Therefore, this paper will focus on the impacts of online appointment scheduling systems on patient outcomes and efficacy based on four-peer reviewed articles that illustrate the application of online appointment scheduling systems in healthcare facilities.
