biology 2114
Anatomy is divided into two main categories: gross anatomy and microscopic anatomy. Gross anatomy is the study of the body’s overall structure, such as organs, bones, and muscles. Microscopic anatomy focuses on the study of cells and tissues. Knowing the anatomy of the body allows us to understand how it works. Physiology is the study of how the body works. It looks at how systems, organs, and tissues work together to keep the body functioning. It also looks at how the body responds to external stimuli such as exercise, diet, and stress. Anatomy and physiology are closely related and need to be studied together in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the body. Knowing both anatomy and physiology gives us an appreciation of the complexity of the body and how it works. Studying anatomy and physiology can also help us to understand diseases and medical conditions. Knowing how the body works and how certain diseases occur can help us to treat them more effectively.
