Job Safety Training Outline (JSTO) For Personnel in 39 CS/SCOW PURPOSE: Safety, Fire Protection, and Health on-the-job training. Supervisors must understand and enforce the safety and health standa rds that apply to their areas, operations and operations involving their subordinates and use risk management techniques to analyze work environment and job tasks for hazards. The Job Safety Analysis (JSA) will be used as part of this process. They must also review work processes annually, when new tasks or equipment are added, or when existing tasks change. Finally, they must provide and document work area specific safety, fire protection and health on-the-job training to all Air Force military and civilian employees per AFI 91-202, US Air Force Mishap Prevention Program, para 1.5.21. Safety, Fire Protection and Health training. Supervisors will develop a Job Safety Training (JST) guide specifically tailored to address safety concerns of the work environment (i.e. safety, fire protection/prevention and health requirements.) The guide will encompass both safety awareness and job specific safety training. (AFI 91-202, para 2.3.3.) The training outline, as a minimum, must address mandatory items listed in AFI 91-202. Mandatory topics have been listed below: 1. Job hazards & specific safety guidance for workplace. 2. Hazards of work areas to include HAZCOM awareness. 3. Proper personal lifting techniques (AFOSH Standard 91-501.) 4. Location of medical facilities & procedures for obtaining treatment. 5. Location/Use of emergency & fire protection equipment. 6. Emergency procedures that apply to work place, including evacuation, fire reporting, emergency numbers, & location of fire alarms/extinguishers. 7. Requirements/Procedures for reporting mishaps, occupational injury and occupational illness. 8. Immediate reporting of unsafe equipment, conditions or procedures to supervisor. 9. AF Traffic Safety Program requirements (mandatory use of seat belts & helmets, speed limits, local traffic hazards, personal risk management, cell phone prohibition during GMV/PMV operation on base & motorcycle safety training requirements. 10. Purpose/Location of AF Form 457, USAF Hazard Rpt. 11. Location/Content of AFVA 91-307, Air Force Occupational Safety and Health Program Poster. 12. Purpose of the AF Form 1118, Notice of Hazard. 13. Risk management awareness training. 14. CA 10, What a Federal Employee Should do When Injured at Work 15. Fire Extinguisher Use (AFOSH Std 91-501 & 29 CFR 1910.157. 16. Fetal Protection Program Awareness (AFI 48-101) Other Job Specific Training Items may need to be addressed as required based on job tasks and documented prior to the employee performing the task. Supervisors will select specific training subjects based on the needs of the job and provide application-level training. Subjects listed below are dependent upon the type job/tasks performed (AFI 91-202) 1. Personal Protective Equipment (use, location, fit, 9.
