Summary Muscle Fibers: The real form of Machismo - Examination of a Bovine Hamstring
The following experiment was carried out in attempt to determine how muscle fibers are constructed and how our body's muscles utilise them. This was related to our chapter 38 study since it allowed us to look at muscle fibers, which are the structures that unite our skeletal muscles. My colleague and I were given a sample of a cow hamstring and utilized probes to carefully extract fibers tiny enough to be examined under a microscope. From there, we saw how the fibers emerged and where they were in reference to the muscle nuclei. After applying toluidine blue liquid to the sample, we noticed that the fibers appeared as dark colored ridges along the muscles. The bovine fibers were found to be striated with numerous nuclei, which is the same format as human skeletal muscle.
