Is the United States still a global Hegemony?
As the world's largest military and economic force since WWII, the United States assumed responsibility for constructing and preserving the world's defence system. While headed by the United States, the European protection structure was focused on the concept of national security. It ensures that states who entered this defence shield would be able to ward off any future aggressor. Instead, in Asia, bilateral negotiations between Southeast Asian countries and Japan and the US laid the groundwork for the region's defence architecture. A global defence system like this still exists today (Arlidge, 2011). By signing security treaties with Asian nations, the US cemented its status as the region's security guarantor, ensuring peace and security. Because of the American blue navy, US soldiers may be deployed in any part of the world at any time. It provides that the US fleet is still stationed in the Pacific Ocean, serving as a peacekeeper for the Southeast Asian nations.
