Henry 1530’s Kildaire’s son Thomas Fitzgerald led a rebellion in protest to the reforms
VIII implemented by Cromwell and his father’s replacement by an English nobleman
Thomas was executed and Kildaire imprisoned but the suppression cost £40,000
and took 14th months.
