Different types of Expeditions
Outdoor and adventurous Expeditions
Introduction
In this assignment, I will be describing, comparing and contrasting different
types of expeditions. By the end of this assignment I hope to know the different
types of expeditions.
(P1) Describe four different types of expeditions
The four different types of expeditions that I am looking at will be:
Individual
Group
Military
Corporate
Individual expeditions
These types of expeditions are done on your own, and you do these types of
expeditions for a variety of reason it could be a way of raising money for
charity or a way to accomplish one of your goals. The person doing the
expedition has to do it on their own however they may get help from people to
prepare. A good example of an individual expedition would be David Walliams
when he swam the English Channel.
David Walliams, successfully completed the 21-mile swim across the English
Channel to France. He did this as part of comic relief to raise £1 million for
charity. He did the swim in 10 hours and 34 minutes and beat his estimated
target of 14 hours. This is an example of an individual expedition as, though he
had assistance training he had none during the swim so that makes it individual.
