Noa Levy
How to use SPSS – from computer practicals year 1 semester 2
Test for Parametric Assumptions
- Normal distribution tested by Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test (want P to be
above 0.05, not significant, significantly different to a normal
distribution so IS normally distributed)
- Homogeneity of variance tested by Levene’s Test (also want P to be
above 0.05, not significant)
,Noa Levy
- Output contains descriptive statistics e.g means, medians, SD, range and
histograms etc…
- To carry out Levene’s test click ‘untransformed’ after doing same steps…
Chi-Square Test
- Non-parametric test of difference
- Differences between groups or association between 2 variables
- Your groups are independent
- You have categorical data (Nominal)
- Your data violates parametric assumptions
