In this task, I am going to explain how consumer are protected
by consumer protection laws in given in situations.
Sales of goods act:
The sales of goods act is an act of parliament which regulates
English contract law and the commercial law in in respect of the
goods that are sold and bought.
Sell the relevant goods:
This is when the goods provided are what the consumers
required. For example if a consumer was to order a mattress,
but instead they were given a duvet then this would be the
wrong goods being sold. In this case the consumer can take
back the product and make an exchange for the product or
service that they required.
The goods must be as described:
The description of the goods may cover such matters such as
size, quantity, weight, ingredients and origin as well as how the
goods are packed. The slightest departure from this description
gives the consumer the right to reject the goods for breach of
condition of the contract.
In the case study two ....... bought a Rolls Royce from a garage
and was confronted with fake misrepresentation by the vender.
This has brought about a disagreement in the agreement
making it void. This has breached the offers of merchandise
act, it also doesn’t help that her situation is being dealt with
unreasonably. ....... is ensured by section13 of the offers of
products that can initiates that all merchandise sold must be as
depicted and can't be distorted. ....... purchased a vehicle which
was described to be in excellent order and it was clearly stated
that the car could go to 50,000 mile, however ....... later found
out that the engine was damaged beyond repair resulting in the
car having little use and depreciating in value. The Rolls Royce
