(M2) You must fully explain the roles, purpose, and responsibilities of security workers in two
contrasting public services organizations, such as the British Transport Police and a Dog Handler in the
Army.

Dog handler in the army,
Will work with trained dogs in the military. They will help to train specialized dog’s depending on what
filed the dogs are in, this can be to sniff out bombs, drugs, and protection dogs. The roles of dog handler
in the army are to ensure the basis are secure and that no suspicious packages are on site. They will
work along side the dog to ensure security and protection.

Some responsibilities you will have as a dog handler,
 Looking after the dogs as their own
 Help train the dog
 Work alongside the dog as partners
 When working make sure security procedures are carried out
 Take the proper procedures when something has been found

Procedures that the dog handlers must follow,
 They can’t carry out searches by themselves, for example, if your dog had fund something in
someone’s bag, you would have to take that person to a private room and ten search their bag
as long as there is another witness.
 Provent anyone from leaving the premises
 Act when a suspicious package has been found
 Can’t carry out an intimate search
 Prevent anyone from entering the premises
