Evaluate the success of one country’s overall energy strategy in
overcoming issues in power production. (20)
Intro: China is a country that is rapidly industrialising and its
energy strategy is reviewed every 5 years. In this essay I will
explore to what extent it has overcome issues regarding
power production.
Para 1:
Point – Increase in renewables to ensure energy security
Evidence - $380 bill. Invested in renewables, 31% of its
electricity generated from renewables
Explanation – Making it a priority to ensure future energy
security and better for the environment, also less reliant on
other countries
Link – successful in addressing this issue. Hopes to achieve
carbon neutrality by 2060.

Point – Plugging energy gap as fossil fuels running out
Evidence – strategic petroleum reserve, 500 mill. Barrels
enables the country to survive for 90 days
Explanation – whilst good to have in place, it’s short term and
