overgewicht, 14% heeft obesitas. Te veel lichaamsvet. Obesitas is gekoppeld aan meer
dan 200 ziektebeelden; diabetes type 2; hart- en vaatziekten; 13 vormen kanker;
infecties; gewrichtsklachten; mentale problemen.

Buikomvang > 94-102 cm man verhoogd, > 102 cm sterk verhoogd risico

Buikomvang > 80-88 cm vrouw verhoogd, > 88 cm sterk verhoogd risico



Wit vet:

- Wit of licht geel
- Slaat overtollige energie op in de vorm van vetten en suikers
- Bevat een grote vetdruppel per cel en weinig mitochondriën wat het licht gekleurd
maakt
- Komt in grote hoeveelheden voor, onder de huid en rond de organen

Bruin vet:

- Donkerder
- Verbrandt vetten en glucose om lichaamswarmte te produceren en zo het
lichaam warm houden
- Bevat veel mitochondriën, de energiecentrales van de cel, die het bruine vet zijn
kleur geven
- Minder algemeen dan wit vet, vaak vermengd met wit vet
