The Coca Cola Company (TCCC), which is the leading beverage company in the world, suffered a discourse in the period occurring 2005 to 2010. The main concern raised was the huge amount of water the multinational corporation company uses in its production scattered in more than 200countries. The company is said to have been consuming 82billion gallons of water annually thus causing water shortage to the communities housing the companies. As a result, there rose a performance-expectation gap between the company’s performance and the stakeholder’s concerns among them including environmentalist and residing communities.
Part B: Report
Banning of Smoking in Public Places
Smoking is a habit partaken by a significant population in the society whereby it ranges from a variety of drug abuse such as tobacco and marijuana. However, the commonly smoked drug is Tobacco and its effect not only affects the smoker but also those around the person. As such, smoking goes on from being a personal health concern to a societal one, which is passive smoking. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) factsheets on tobacco, "tobacco kills more than 8million people each year with more than 7million of those deaths being as a result of direct smoking and the rest up to 1.2 million are the result of exposure to second-hand smoking" (2019). This factsheet is worrying considering the population that dies because of exposure to passive smoking. The main reason for this is that smokers are permitted to light up their cigarettes whenever and wherever they want consequently exposing not only themselves to the dangers of smoking but also the rest of people around them. Only a few nations such as Ireland and Bhutan have realized this crucial impact and resulted in a total ban on the sale and usage of tobacco products. For the rest of the world, they still deny this influence with some governments resulting in partial bans limiting smoking in high congregant areas such as cafes. Nonetheless, smoking is still permissible to the greater majority of society in public places including but not limited to streets, parks, schools, and other outdoors.
