The patient is a 60-year-old African American female presenting to the
outpatient clinic with a complaint of progressive shortness of breath over
the past two weeks. She describes the dyspnea as worsening with
minimal exertion, such as walking across the room, and notes occasional
wheezing and fatigue. She denies chest pain, hemoptysis, or leg swelling.
She has a 40-pack-year smoking history and a known history of
hypertension and obesity. No recent illness or travel history is reported.
