INSTRUCTIONS: Please read carefully
There are 4 questions on 2 pages; some questions have more than
one part.
Read all questions (and parts) carefully.
Please do not exceed the word count that is indicated against
questions 3 and 4. The word count has been set for these questions,
where a longer answer is expected, in the interest of fairness. The
maximum word count does not indicate that good answers must have
this number of words; it is possible to give a good answer in fewer
words. It is the content that matters most here.
There is no word count on questions 1 and 2 and this is because the
answers are expected to be relatively short

Take some time to look at the Grid that has been provided. You will see that the
elements are different types of car.
Imagine that this Grid has been created with ALEX who is planning to buy a
new car and wants your help in deciding which car would suit him best.
ALEX knows something about all the cars referred to on the Grid but
just does not know which one to buy.

a) In general, when looking at any grid, how would you know if one or more elements
have been construed in the same (or very similar) way? 2 marks
When looking down the elements’ individual columns and comparing these numbers to those of other
elements using the 1-7 scale, numbers that appear similar/same can be interpreted as being
construed in the same way.
b) Are there any elements in this grid that seem to have been construed in the same
way? Which ones? (2 marks per pair) Total 4
