The Cover Page • This will be you initial page which should include all your relevant detail like your full names and surname, your student number, the module code and your topic which you have chosen to write on. 2. The Cecklist • A formal checklist will be provided to you, you will need to fill it in accordingly and submit it with your portfolio. 3. Table of Contents • You will be required to create your own table of content which will have the appropriatge page numbers and titles. 4. Introduction • Personal Statement: Briefly introduce yourself and state the purpose of your Portfolio. • Course Overview: Summarise the HSY1512 course Purpose and outcomes found in your study guide (GD 001) and how they relate to your personal and academic goals. 5. Quiz Feedback • Quiz: Provide a copy of your quiz (Assessment 1), scores and your own feedback (in a paragraph) on what important elements stood out for you in the quiz. 6. Essay Planning • This will Include the graded essay planning and bibliography (Assessment 2) with grades and feedback. 7. Final Essay • This will be the final essay and an improved version of the draft essay. 8. Reflections • Learning Reflections: This will be 1 page reflection on what you have learned from the quiz and assessments 2 and how you have used those lessons in the final essay • Growth Reflections: Reflect on your overall growth throughout the course and identify areas for improvement. Essay questions: Question 1: Study Unit 4 Based on your reading, would you agree that European colonisation was the reason for the destruction of the self-reliant Khoekhoe communities in the Cape between the 1650s and the 1720s? Give reasons for your answer. Question 2: Study Unit 5 Discuss with reference the reasons why, during the VOC period, there was no large-scale slave rebellion that occurred at the Cape Question 3: Study Unit 5 Discuss with reference the ways in which slaves were treated as well as the ways in which they reacted to their situation at the Cape during the VOC period. Question 4: Study Unit 5 Explore and discuss the impact of slavery on the Cape economy and social (racial) order during the VOC period.
