This theme encapsulates the significance of both the Mapungubwe heritage and the
celebration of 30 years of democratic freedom in South Africa. It highlights how the
arts and cultural expressions reflect the triumphs and struggles of South Africans
over the past three decades.
1.2 Objectives of the Public Relations Plan
1. Communication Objective: To increase awareness of the Mapungubwe Arts
and Cultural Festival as a key cultural event celebrating 30 years of South
Africa’s democracy, aiming for a 30% increase in pre-event media coverage
compared to the previous year.
2. Media Objective: To establish strategic partnerships with at least five local
and national media outlets to secure consistent and positive media
representation before, during, and after the festival, ensuring its cultural
significance is well-represented.
3. PR Objective: To engage a minimum of 15,000 attendees at the festival,
leveraging social media platforms and influencer partnerships to enhance
participation and promote diverse artistic expressions within the program.
