We see that today’s world that gender-based violence (GBV) is a serious problem
worldwide, involving various forms of violence directed at individuals because of their
gender. Some people argue that men are the main perpetrators of GBV, pointing to
societal norms and power imbalances. However, my essay overlooks the complexity
of GBV. I will argue against the idea that only men are responsible for GBV, providing
three reasons supported by research and personal experiences.
