Combination Family Structure
A combination of a typical family is a family structure that is considered non-traditional.
The family structures consist of various non-traditional family structures. It includes various
family arrangements into what is considered the nuclear family which consists of the Father,
Mother, and biological children (White et al., 2018). This family structure may involve the
adoption of kids, remarriages, or the inclusion of extended family to live under one roof.
Influences
Cultural
This family structure influences culture in various ways. First, it leads to diversity
through embracing practices from individuals with different cultural backgrounds. The
family structure promotes inclusivity and enhances respect and recognition of various
family members irrespective of their cultural background (Erdem & Keklik, 2013).
The combination family structure is very flexible hence allowing for deviation from the
normal social norms. They influence the parenting system and the practices involved in
marriages. Combination families influence societal expectations.
Combination family structure introduces new cultural practices into the society. This
happens through the transfer of cultural practices from adoption or remarriages
(Sampson, 2018).
