- Hans Brinker (De Zilveren Schaatsen):
+ A novel by American author Mary Mapes Dodge about the ambitons of Hans and Gretel
to win the skatng race and achieve the silver skates. Hans had to sacrifce his chance of
winning and saved up money to pay for his father’s treatment. Afer all, his father’s
treatment was successful, Han could go to a medical school and became a doctor, the family
lived a happy life.
+ A small tale: a Dutch boy who saves his country by putng his fgure in a leaking dike all
night, untl the adults of the village fnd him and make necessary repairs  “The Hero of
Haarlem”

- Queen Beatrix: Queen of the Netherlands (30/04/1980 – 30/04/2013m), mother of King
Willem-Alexander
- Wooden shoes (Klompen)
- Quaintly-gabled houses along the canals, Thatched-roof farmhouse
- De Keukenhof: a famous tourist atracton in Amsterdam, which opens to public from
March to May. In this giant garden, you can fnd almost every kind of diferent fowers.
