Cisgender -A term used for an individual whose gender identity and/or expression aligns with the sex they were assigned at birth. -Cisgender is an example of gender-inclusive language. Which is a fairly new concept that is influenced and supported by 3rd wave feminism. doing gender -Doing gender is when an individual conforms to interactions and activities associated with their gender, such as a female being submissive. -Feminists want to push us away from the pressures of doing gender. "The master's tools will never dismantle the master's house" We end up using male constructs to deconstruct male constructs. Which will never work because the master's tools (male constructs) will never dismantle the master's house (male constructs). -A viewpoint of radical feminism used to advocate for revolution over reform in terms of the partiarchy. Intersectionality -Intersectionality refers to the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as gender, sexuality, race, age, class, and ableness. -Anti-racist feminists believe in the intersectionality of feminism as women have differing levels of privilege and therefore differing experiences as a woman. For example life experiences of straight women are different than the life experiences of lesbian or bisexual women.

theory is the destruction of both capitalism and the patriarchy

(Women as) Reserve Army of Labour

-Refers to women as a group who can be brought into and taken out of the workforce as needed.
-For example, women were brought into the workforce as nurses during world war two.
-marxist feminists view women as being used as a reserve army of labour as a way to advocate against
capitalism and the patriarchy.

feminization of poverty

-refers to the increasing percentage of females living in poverty.
-education, intersectionality, occupation, health and many other systemic and individual factors
influence the feminization of poverty
-socialist feminist term used to advocate against capitalism and the patriarchy.
