I plan to make an impact on my team by implementing transformational and transactional leadership. Through transformational leadership, I will inspire co-workers to work beyond the level of competence, shaping, altering, and elevating their potential to meet a shared vision of excellent patient care (Scully, 2015). This influences members to work not only towards their own goals, but the goals of the group as well. I feel that transactional leadership is important by rewarding staff for their hard work. By rewarding members for their hard work, it will ultimately produce better patient satisfaction. As a leader, I must strive to model and support ethical performance while being sensitive to moral issues which help enhance nurse’s performance (Barkhordari-Sharifabad, Ashktorab, & Atashzadeh-Shoorideh, 2017). The use of these two leadership styles strive for success, as well as develop satisified co-workers.
