Introduction
In this essay, we will explore how the aspects of becoming a researcher, as described in
Learning Unit 1, apply to Linda Tuhiwai Smith's journey as a researcher and how they
also apply to our own journey in becoming a researcher in education. The aspects we
will focus on include the journey of research, curious questioning, intervention, social
justice and critique.
