- Liberalism argues that the best way to organize a society is to maximize freedom
- There is an equality idea that we talked about in the marxism lecture that I missed
(Actually, I think this is elite theory)
- Marxisum argued that equality is possible, and inevitable
- Looking for at least 3 pages double spaced, welcome to write more pages
- Study strategy recommended: approach is as an in person test where you need to
know the material beforehand
- Do you want us to cite what people said? It is not required to cite.
- If its a direct quote from someone, cite it
- If you are summarizing a lecture/person, don't cite it
- Not expecting quotations
- Good enough to say “mill as said in lecture”
- Focus on demonstrating your understanding of the lecture ideas, including reading
ideas are welcome, but no the focus
- Any format that is academically credible is allowed as a citation format
- Work cited is not required
- A title page is not required (it's a waste of time for this project)
- You have to talk about the debate regarding the idea, not necessarily make a critique,
just discuss the critique
- You can use “I”/pronouns
- Looking for a thesis statement, the thesis statement would be your overall assessment
of the idea
- Follow standard essay structure
- The most important thing is that you demonstrate your understanding of the ideas
- Stay on topic
- If you wanted to cite a lecture, (Lecture #) is all you need
- Name the documents “POLSCI-1AA3 Mid-Term Exam (Name)”
- Don't bother adding your student number
- Would prefer it as a docx file to submit
- A good format is to discuss the idea, and then discuss the critique and insert your
opinion where appropriate
